Root release update | October 2023

What's new this month? 🚀

  • User Groups

Manage access for your sales teams and intermediaries on Root, with User Groups. You can now control and restrict access to applications, policy data, and products, thereby providing enhanced security, data privacy and more targeted sales efforts. Read the guides.

  • Additional email recipients

You can now use flat email addresses or handlebars to add additional recipients to your email comms via the email notification templates. Read the docs.

  • formatCurrency handlebars helper

You can specify how you want currency to be displayed, by passing the currencyDisplay option in when using the formatCurrency handlebars helper. Read the docs.

  • Improved user management

We've introduced the following noteworthy enhancements to team member management and permissions:

    • Fine-tune your team's access and responsibilities with the new users:add and users:archive permissions.

    • You’ll now find breadcrumbs in the roles view, enhancing navigation within Dashboard.

  • Communications tooling modal

We have added a confirm modal when toggling comms master templates on/off to provide an additional layer of user assurance. This modal also notifies users that turning email or SMS master templates on/off will activate / deactivate it for other product modules where the templates are currently in use.

  • Notification status enhancements

We've made the following improvements to notification statuses to provide you with a more consistent, user-friendly, and easily interpretable experience:

    • Introduced a delivered status for email notifications, aligning it with SMS notifications.

    • You'll now find status update descriptions for the queued event and for successfully sent emails.

    • Status update descriptions are now presented in a user-friendly table format, eliminating the need to hover over tooltips.

    • Fine-tuned the notification_sent webhook to activate whenever a notification's status is updated to sent, and only once for each notification.

    • Added the 114 Clickatell error code to handle notification rejections.

    • Implemented a system that prevents the processing of duplicate updates from providers. This ensures that updates with the same status and timestamp as one processed previously won't lead to redundant notifications.

    • On the dashboard, we've enhanced the sorting of status updates to ensure they are logically organised by status when multiple updates share the same timestamp.

  • Workbench command enhancements

We've made the following improvements to Workbench commands to provide you with a better building experience:

    • Rp invoke – claim: Open a claim directly from your terminal using the command $ rp invoke --claim. Read the docs.
  • Embed | Sales enhancements

We've made the following improvements to the Embed | Sales add-on to provide you with more flexibility to configure your ideal customer experience:

    • Identification country: We've removed the requirement for an identification country when using email and cellphone identification types.
    • Billing day control: You now have the ability to enable or disable the editing of billing days. This newfound flexibility is managed through the editBillingDay setting in the Embed config.
    • Add module data: We have added the ability for you to configure the quote page in Embed to include customisable module data.

If you have any suggestions or feedback, please share them with your Project Lead or submit them via the Root product roadmap so that we can take them into account.

Let's build this awesome new future of insurance together 💪
