Root release update | September 2023

What's new this month? 🚀

  • Addition of policy certificate to Custom Comms

You can now add your customers Policy Certificate as an attachment when creating and sending Customer notifications. Read the docs.
  • Bank Zero is now supported on Root

Bank Zero has been added to the list of supported banks on Root for Debit Order payment methods, providing your customers with more payment options.
  • Workbench command enhancements

We've made the following improvements to Workbench commands to provide you with a better building experience:
    • Rp generate – Root-specific components: Enhancing your schema component customisation capabilities with the root_type property. Pass it through the Joi.meta function to generate schema components that may not be directly derived from Joi fields. The available types are detailed in Root guides.
    • Rp generate – API docs: Produce an API reference skeleton for your API reference, complete with example components. This serves as a foundation for developing the API reference documentation for both the quote and application endpoints. This API reference skeleton will be automatically generated and saved in the sandbox/docs/api-docs.yaml file when you run the command rp generate --api-docs.
    • Rp diff – workflows: Display the differences in the local product module and the remote product module for the following workflows: quote and application schema, claims blocks, alteration schemas and embed files. To do this one would have to run rp diff --workflows
      Read the docs.
  • Embed | Sales enhancements

We've made the following improvements to the Embed | Sales add-on to provide you with more flexibility to configure your ideal customer experience:
    • Module data component: In the payment summary on the payments page, you can now define the data presented in a more granular way, as well as display nested data.
    • Updated styling for the list component: We’ve improved the user experience of list components for Embed to make it easier for end customers to fill in their details.
  • Product Module Filters and Pagination

    • On Dashboard you can now quickly find the Product Modules you need using the new filters for publisher and enabled_for_live. Additionally, you will notice that we have added new custom empty states and a subtitle prop in the list view component to render descriptions.
    • On the Platform side, we've introduced the created_by and enabled_for_live query parameters for advanced filtering. We've also added a head request and the countOrgProductModules action, which opens up robust pagination options.

If you have any suggestions or feedback, please share them with your Project Lead or submit them via the Root product roadmap so that we can take them into account.

Let's build this awesome new future of insurance together 💪
