Root release update | July 2021

What's new this month? 🚀

  • Debicheck collections

With this change we enable Debicheck collections on the platform.

  • Claims section block

Claim blocks can now be arranged into collapsable sections to simplify the UI.

  • Ability to retrieve applications for a specific policyholder

Endpoint added to be able to retrieve all applications for a policyholder GET /v1/insurance/policyholders/:policyholder_id/applications

  • Password protected policy documents

Policy documents can now be encrypted (with policyholder's identification number) via a feature flag: enable_document_encryption for orgs.
Policy schedule, member certificates, policy welcome letters, policyholder quotes are encrypted if the feature is enabled. Please contact Root support to enable this feature.

  • Ability to fetch policies for a given policy number/s

When fetching policies via the API you are now able to add an optional query param: ?policy_number= to fetch only the policies for the given policy number
The query param will accept single and multiple values: ?policy_number=123ABC , ?policy_number=123ABC,CBA321
Please note: the policy_number is case sensitive

  • External Payment Method Verification

External payment methods now have a verification status (that is also displayed on the dashboard).
If a payment fails with a reason preventing a retry payment, the payment method will be blocked, and future payments will not be created for the payment method.

  • Communication template for event 'External payments activated'

A new 'External payments activated' notification template was added to the communication rails. This template is sent when an external payment method is added to a policy for the first time, and will include the welcome letter in the attachments (alongside the schedule and terms).

  • Display DebiCheck mandate status

    • A DebiCheck mandate's status is now displayed on the policy view (as part of the payment method section).
    • A new endpoint has also been added to the platform which returns the DebiCheck mandate for a policy.

If you have any suggestions or feedback, please share with your account manager or submit it via the Root product roadmap so that we can take it into account.

Let's build this awesome new future of insurance together 💪
